This is a final reminder that there is a full closure of the M4 this weekend in both directions between junctions 6 (Slough-Windsor) and 8/9 (Maidenhead).

The closure will start tomorrow, Friday 29th November from approximately 8pm and this section of the motorway will be closed all weekend for bridge work. There will also be vegetation clearance and other work taking place to make best use of the closure. The motorway will reopen on Monday 2nd December by 6am.

The work will begin overnight on the Friday and continue all weekend at all hours until it is complete. Motorway traffic will be diverted at junctions 6 and 8/9 to the A308M / A308 / A332 / A355 for the duration of the closure.

There is also a wider regional diversion plan that will advise drivers on the M25 heading west to use the M3 or M40 and then re-join the M4 further along. Similarly, drivers heading east on the M4 towards London will be advised to leave the M4 and redirect to the M3 and M40 to join the M25. Clear signs and signals will be in place on the network over the weekend.

This is the last weekend closure of 2019 but there will be more to come in 2020 and 2021. You can find out more in the bulletin or at our main website: http://www.highwaysengland.co.uk/m4j3to12
